Objectives

In the accreditation we carried out 1 youth exchange and 2 training courses. Our approaches are the same: to achieve a more sustainable, more supportive and more inclusive society; to increase our network and the exchange of ideas and projects with other liked-minded entities in Europe. This allows us to respond globally to the challenges posed by social evolution, improving the training and stability of our trainers and collaborators, in order to increase the quality and the offer of projects and activities for youth workers and European youth. Within this framework are the 4 objectives that we propose in the accreditation: 1.- Personal growth and entrepreneurship. 2.- To deepen environmental education and self-reliance. 3.- To advance gender equality and inclusion. 4.- To promote the social participation of young people and associations. These 4 objectives are present in all projects and mobilities, each with different importance. Mandragora team has worked mainly on environmental issues, and objective 3 of gender equality and inclusion was a topic we wanted to delve into in order to respond to the social changes that are taking place. In the 2022 accreditation, we already dedicated the “RIACT SOCIETY” mobility to the topic and we understood its importance. That project was very important and from then on, in all the projects we have incorporated activities and reflections that have improved the reception and the faster creation of a collective group that moves in the same direction, among which we highlight: creating safe and free spaces, more assertive communication and a care group. In this 2023 accreditation, to objective 3, we have dedicated a Training course “LET¨S BUILD GENDER-ECO FRIENDLY COLLECTIVES” with the aim that the groups, regardless of the fundamental work topic, are more ecological, more supportive, more participatory and more inclusive; so that the circular economy and care are assumed by its members, in all their actions and activities, both internal and external. Some collective/partner repeated participation and had continued to delve deeper into the topic and in previous mobility, they contributed significantly. With objective 2 of deepening self-sufficiency, we have carried out the youth exchange “SOIL, ROCKS AND CANES”. The reason for choosing this topic was, among others, to value what has recently been declared a world heritage site in southern Europe, dry stone construction; which we have taken advantage of by adding construction with natural elements such as mud or reeds. With great success we built a dry stone retaining wall, a bread/pizza oven; clay Rocket stoves and a shed with reeds for tools, it was very gratifying for the participants. Continuing with objective 2, but to go deeper into environmental education, seeking to value natural heritage (which is a request that comes to us from both local youth and the associations with which we have a relationship), in this case we organized a training course “Listening to the trail” to energize rural areas, trace and signpost a natural route using Heritage Interpretation techniques. It was very well received by other European entities and by the participants and also by the town of Obon, who saw how a path that marked their lives in the second half of the 20th century recovered its layout and told its life. In the mobilities of this accreditation we have incorporated two novelties for us that are important, one at a local level and another at a European level. At a local level we dedicate time to carry out an activity that reverts to the town where we carry out the mobility; in this accreditation we have carried out a forest reforestation, a useful dry wall, some clay rocket stoves that the neighbors freely use, ecological crafts workshops, recovering a path, etc. They have been very well received and valued. At European level, the dissemination of the project has always been a weak point, so from the beginning we have organized work groups, which carry out dissemination activities and on the last day there is time for them to finish them and show them to others, uploading them to a shared folder and thus the participants and partners of the project have abundant material to disseminate. In the 2022 accreditation we consolidated the network of European associations and people "EUPLANET" to promote sustainability in Europe. Other countries have taken over and every year a mobility is held in another country and the Mandragora Team participates as partners. The projects of this accreditation have obtained good results and have met 100% of the planned objectives. The evaluations of the participants have been very positive.
