Objectives

“Work for Good” is a youth exchange project that lasts 7 days plus 2 days of travel and aims to empower and involve young people in volunteer activities and promote their active participation in their local communities. Young people in our target groups do not have sufficient civic education and are not familiar with the concept of volunteering. Furthermore, the Covid19 pandemic has had a negative impact on volunteering, causing a decrease in levels of active citizenship and socialization problems among young people. Our project has aimed to revive young people's interest in volunteering by involving them in an international exchange program in Georgia to gain new experiences and learn about volunteering and active citizenship. The specific objectives of the project have been: - Raise awareness and promote the importance of volunteering among young people and increase their participation in volunteer activities. - Develop young people's skills to analyze social problems and create volunteer initiatives, through a better understanding of the project cycle. - Increase the level of active citizenship and youth participation among participants, especially among those with fewer opportunities. - Promote socialization and reactivate young people's interest in volunteer activities, which were negatively impacted by the COVID19 pandemic. - Exchange best practices and encourage collaboration between partner organizations in the field of youth work and volunteering. - Promote intercultural exchange, understanding and tolerance between young people from different countries and foster their sense of belonging to a broader and more diverse community. A total of 31 young people from 6 different countries in Europe and Eastern Europe participated in the project. They were brought together in an international environment and offered non-formal learning activities such as teamwork, workshops, role plays, simulations, presentations, case studies to learn, develop skills related to volunteering and become actors of change in their communities. The project provided young people with practical experience in volunteering and helped them develop a sense of civic responsibility, intercultural awareness and leadership skills. By empowering and involving young people in volunteering activities, the project aims to contribute to the improvement of their local communities and the promotion of a more active and inclusive society.
