Objectives

CONTEXT Different youth groups from environmental and social justice organizations, we propose to make a youth exchange in LAND STEWARDSHIP AND RURAL REGENERATION, revaluing the intangible and material heritage of the bioregions in which we live and proposing restorative and/or regenerative strategies and proposals. Dialogue between local and international youth is necessary to share experiences on this problem, become aware of our influence as drivers of change in our rural communities, and resignify the past to generate new proposals to face planetary challenges. OBJECTIVE: Generate disruptive proposals for community stewardship of the territories where rural European youth live, increasing our capacity for transformation and designing projects that serve as a catalyst for RURAL RESILIENCE AND REGENERATION. SUB OBJECTIVE 1. HISTORICAL / CULTURAL. Investigate through intergenerational dialogues and active research, in the processes of co-evolution between communities and the territory, revaluing the intangible heritage that, often, has been transmitted orally between generations. At the same time, generate "stories of the place" highlighting the relevant historical events of each territory; their uses and customs of land management and administration; and identifying the singularities and potentialities that the present territories can bring to the world at the present time. SUB 2. POLITICAL / COMMUNITY OBJECTIVE. Facilitate dialogue between young people and the community to promote awareness of decision-making and the importance of the link between the voice of young people and political will as a transformative capacity to catalyze change, from a participatory and transversal governance perspective . At the same time, amplify the voice of social initiatives so that they become a proactive actor in the preservation of rural territories. OBJECTIVE SUB 3. TERRITORY / ENVIRONMENTAL. Explore the relationship with the environment and community identity linked to the territory. Define ways to manage small parts of the territory that improve the conservation, restoration and regeneration of natural, agricultural, cultural and heritage spaces. Highlight the importance of managing projects in a holistic way and integrating the participation of the entire community in each step and in making conscious decisions. INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGIES 1. Transformative Teaching Methodology (TTM) and Peer to Peer (P2P). We will work from the TTM and P2P because they are very effective empowerment methodologies among young people. TTM includes techniques such as popular education, group problem solving, cooperative games and mind maps and P2P such as learning by doing, debates and open spaces. 2. Planning and management of innovative projects. The youth leaders and facilitators will share analysis and project design tools that youth will take ownership to design and execute their own projects in innovative ways. 3. Systemic Transnational Networks. Youth participants and partner organizations will engage in multiple topic-based and goal-oriented networking activities.
