Objectives

The "StartUp Spark" project was implemented with the aim of addressing the significant challenges faced by young people in Europe who have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With nearly 80% of job losses in 2022 affecting individuals under 35, there was a pressing need to take action to support these young people in adapting to the rapidly changing job market. The project sought to provide targeted assistance to those who have been most affected by the pandemic, including those facing unemployment, difficulties with job interviews and communication, and those looking to initiate youth employment projects within their organizations. The project aimed to reflect on and analyze the current unemployment situation for young people in Europe, with a particular focus on the pandemic's impact on the job market. This reflection was crucial for understanding the specific challenges and barriers that young people are facing today. Second, the project sought to develop the necessary digital skills and knowledge that young people need to succeed in the job search process. In a job market that is increasingly digitalized, equipping young people with these skills is essential for their success and employability. Third, the project aimed to encourage youth entrepreneurship by providing young people with the tools and resources needed to start their own businesses or create their own job opportunities. This objective was designed to empower young individuals to make a positive impact on their communities and take control of their own futures. Lastly, the project sought to foster the creation of future initiatives within the Erasmus+ Programme that would continue to support young people struggling with unemployment. By encouraging the development of additional projects, "StartUp Spark" aimed to create a sustainable impact that would benefit not only the current participants but also future generations of young Europeans. Through these objectives, the project hoped to empower young people to overcome the challenges they face in the current job market, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities needed to take control of their futures and contribute positively to their communities.
