This project was born from our conviction that education can and should be a driving force for social and environmental change. Our central objective, with a human and transformative vocation, was to promote an innovative and enriching educational methodology through living education. This approach was not only aimed at today’s and tomorrow’s educators but also sought to inspire everyone involved in the educational process. We aimed to contribute to revolutionizing traditional education, turning the learning experience into something participatory and experiential. We believe that when students and educators actively participate in their own learning, they develop critical thinking and adaptability, which are essential to facing the challenges of an ever-changing world. Our vision was to create an environment where theory and practice would meet coherently, allowing knowledge to be transformed into concrete actions; we aspired to empower participants to not only acquire new skills but also develop a deep sense of responsibility towards their community and the environment. Thus, we embarked on this journey with the hope that, in the end, each of us would become more aware, more committed, and better prepared to contribute to the sustainable development of our societies. We understand living education not just as a method but as a way of being and living, to grow, share, and expand. The specific objectives we set out to achieve were: · Facilitating shared learning in open environments: Through practical and transformative educational experiences in natural settings, we wanted participants to develop a deeper connection with nature and the community. We believe that direct contact with the natural environment not only enriches learning but also fosters greater sensitivity and respect towards the environment. · Developing workshops and practical activities: Our goal was to enable theoretical knowledge to be applied in real contexts, helping participants acquire skills and competencies useful both in their daily lives and professionally. Through practice, we sought to make learning meaningful and relevant, better preparing them for future challenges. · Promoting self and shared knowledge: Through activities that fostered self-reflection, self-awareness, and collaboration, we aimed to facilitate the integral development of each participant, as we firmly believe that learning is not just an acquisition of knowledge but a process of self-discovery and personal growth. · Raising awareness about nature and the environment: Using local and rural settings for our educational activities, we intended to increase environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices. Our goal was for participants to not only learn about sustainability but to become active advocates for the environment in their communities. · Bringing coherence between theoretical discourse and educational practice: We wanted to create meaningful experiences that could be replicated in other educational contexts, ensuring that theory transforms into effective practice, thus minimizing the gap between what is taught and how it is applied, fostering education that is truly useful and transformative. · Developing social and communication skills: Through collaborative work, we promoted essential skills such as leadership, motivation, and teamwork. For us, these competencies are fundamental not only for professional success but also for personal and community life, helping to build stronger and more effective relationships. · Encouraging entrepreneurship and association: Highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship and the creation of collaborative networks among educational entities, we encouraged participants to develop their own initiatives, offering a vision of entrepreneurship not just as an economic activity but as a way to contribute positively to society. · Contributing positively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): We committed to integrating the SDGs into all our activities, ensuring that every action we took was aligned with the vision of a sustainable and equitable future, promoting social and environmental resilience in all our activities. The project "Spaces that Educate: Living Education for the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (EVODS)" not only sought to transform traditional education through a participatory and experiential approach but also aimed to empower participants for their personal growth and development.
