Tech4Swell: New technologies and entrepreneurship in rural areas project is inspired by the European Green Deal, the New European Bauhaus and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. In addition, several European programs and strategies, such as the EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027), the core values of the European Union and the Erasmus+ program (2021-2027), have also been taken into account for its development. Within the Erasmus+ program, Tech4Swell is a youth exchange developed under Key Action 1: Individual Learning Mobility of the new Erasmus+ program. Through non-formal activities, young people will develop and improve their knowledge of new technologies and digital tools that will enable them to carry out entrepreneurship projects, improving their competitiveness and modernizing existing businesses in rural regions, in order to provide new opportunities for young people, and especially women, from rural regions to develop their future without the need to leave the place where they grew up, thus also combating the exodus to large cities that is being experienced on the European continent. Likewise, the project's commitment to mitigating the effects of the war that is currently affecting Ukraine is made clear by the involvement of a partner from this country. Through Tech4Swell, we aim to provide tools to young Ukrainians to promote the development of their region in the present, if possible, but especially in the future, while offering alternatives to the citizens of this country. The youth exchange held in Hontalbilla will contribute to the local development of the regions in which the partners are located, given the possibilities of establishing networks and inter-sectoral relations between actors directly or indirectly related to the rural world, and an alternative to generate locally produced income, thus benefiting the communities through, for example, job creation. In addition, another of the objectives pursued and that needs to be addressed is the empowerment of women in the rural world, which currently plays a secondary role in terms of labor and professional activity. Entrepreneurship is important for the empowerment of rural women for several reasons: 1 - It provides a source of income: By having their own business, rural women can generate income and improve their quality of life, without the need to depend on third parties. 2 - Improves economic independence: By owning their own business, rural women can make decisions and control their finances independently. 3 - Encourages participation in society: By having an active economic role, rural women can participate more actively in society and have a stronger voice in decision-making. 4 - Promotes innovation and local development: By having local businesses, rural women can drive economic and social development in their communities. It should also be noted that the projects and initiatives that are intended to be promoted through Tech4Swell must be related to sustainable business models, in accordance with the principles of the circular economy and that are committed to the ecological transition and the generation of green jobs. Accordingly, some of the objectives of the project are: - To provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to use new technologies and digital tools, highlighting their benefits in business and the importance given to them by the European Union in its future strategies. - Stimulate and support entrepreneurship among young people in Europe as a means of personal and professional growth, with a focus on empowering women in rural areas. - Promote the green economy as a sustainable employment option in line with global policies and objectives. - Facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices among participating organizations to foster the development of youth entrepreneurship using new technologies and digital tools. - Generate new job and employment opportunities in new enterprises in rural areas to fight against depopulation. Thanks to this project, young people will be able to address these problems and apply new knowledge and methodologies that will help the development of their regions and consequently, of the European continent. In addition, they will share different points of view as a result of their experience that will make this exchange even more enriching, and they will be able to get to know new points of view and cultures that will increase their background as European and world citizens.
