Objectives

The term biodiversity refers to the variety of species present, their genetic variation, and different living forms in complex ecologies. Biodiversity assists us in adapting to climate change by minimizing the effects of natural disasters. However, we have encountered biodiversity loss, mostly as a result of activities such as pollution, climate change, and land use changes. The main reasons behind biodiversity loss also include species of extraterrestrial invasion, deforestation, urbanization, overfishing, and hunting. Before the implementation of our project, we conducted research regarding the issues of biodiversity loss. Scientists cautioned that many of the eight million species, out of which an estimated one million are threatened with extinction within the next several decades, in a UN study released in 2019. Ecosystems need millions of years to recover from such a disaster. As a consequence, we wanted to implement our project to raise young people’s awareness regarding global warming. Additionally, we aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and the disappearance of nature and species. Within the project, the main objectives were as follows: -To enhance awareness about the value of biodiversity. -To make young individuals aware of the factors that threaten biodiversity. -To foster behaviors that do not harm biodiversity. -To support the utilization of environmentally friendly, sustainable, digital solutions. -To encourage young people, local organizations, and target audiences to protect biodiversity in their own communities. -To gain a spirit of cooperation within the framework of respect and tolerance through teamwork. -To improve the participants’ communication skills in foreign languages. -To encourage the direct and indirect target groups of the project for recycle, decrease resource waste, and increase awareness of soil, air, and water pollution. enhancing the social and multilingual skills of the participants. providing equal opportunities for all the participants coming from different cultures and backgrounds. -To encourage the participants to adopt environmentally friendly habits aligned with the European Green Deal. -To raise awareness about European values so that the participants feel a sense of belonging to Europe. -To create a welcoming and safe learning environment where all participants could improve their skills. -To foster self-confidence and public speaking skills by creating opportunities for the participants to express their ideas openly. -To contribute to sustainability by using digital skills and learning methods aligned with the strategic priorities of the Digital Education Action Plan. -To establish a learning environment that encourages non-discrimination, tolerance, mutual respect, and understanding towards others.
