With the project “From your home to Europe” we wanted to achieve greater commitment and participation of young people in everyday realities to responsibly face many of the situations that require attention and cooperation. We have sought to bring them closer to causes or social references that help them to be more generous, supportive and committed. Since they often make their choices without taking into account the identity and set of European values (solidarity, democracy, dignity of the human being, inclusion, collaboration, etc.). And many times they struggle or fear anything that is lasting, preventing them from acquiring a commitment and sense of active citizenship that contributes to sustainable growth, social cohesion, etc. The two entities involved in the project, the French JEM and the Spanish one, FdV, thanks to the experience of working in the youth field, saw the need, which the young people themselves transmitted to us, to develop activities that would favor their knowledge of the principles and European values, the feeling and identification with the European Union, and the need for their active participation and commitment in society through non-formal education, the exchange of experience and learning between young people of different nationalities and environments with fewer opportunities. The objective of the “From your Home to Europe” project has been to promote young people's commitment to European identity and values, strengthening their active citizenship, through non-formal learning that includes young people with fewer opportunities. The specific objectives that the program has achieved with young people have been: • Promote active citizenship • Improve the quality of non-formal learning • Promote the feeling of being European. • Encourage intercultural dialogue • Deepen your knowledge about Europe and the EU • Achieve the development of personal and social skills
