Objectives

- The main goal of our Aid Basics was to stimulate the interaction between the participants while they gained knowledge of: the skills needed to provide support to young people, youth workers and any human being in emergencies their role as youth workers in relation with active citizenship and offering first aid the importance of the process of self-knowledge – self assessment of their own reactions and the reactions of others in emergency situations the ability to work in a multicultural environment and identify common goals – the team building activity was to co-create a community of youth workers, and adhere to a common vision, common values and the participants created a Instagram profile of this organization . - Next objective, namely to equip participants with 5 types of non-formal tools about first aid (integrative, creative, for intercultural learning, open space, and study visit) during the mobility, the participants discovered and experimented with the LARP game method in a first-aid context. After a short psychological education session on trauma responses participants had to imagine and role-play scenarios about the adequate way to intervene. Another Larp game method was used to support participants to intervene and apply specific techniques in specific emergency situations. They engaged in practical workshops to stimulate their ability to intervene in emergency situations, connected with local medical experts in the field, and contributed to creating an interactive educational game on first aid. Even though we initially planned on creating a YouTube channel with important educational content, and a TikTok account to reach youth and deliver educational and vital information – the youth workers commonly agreed that an Instagram account of the project comprises all the digital means initially planned. This way, the participants learned good practices from the multicultural groups and gained knowledge about using digital tools to reach specific target groups, creating specific content, and delivering accessible content to youth online. Our participants gained both theoretical and practical acquisitions on first aid measures. - Other objective was, namely to foster cooperation between the 7 partner NGOs a suitable climate was created for exchanging beneficial information, needs, and proposals for future interactions and cooperative projects. Currently, one youth exchange is being conceived and will be applied in Romania by an informal group created by 2 of the youth workers. Partners will be one of the project partners who made connections in our Tc. This networking contributed to promoting the partners’ associations and gaining more visibility across Europe and beyond. This is basically the fifth objective attained: namely to involve the 30 participating youth workers in outlining a sketch for 2 future initiatives (training course/youth exchange/ESC project). The participants benefited from the following information provided during the training course: project management requirements, non-formal education and values for youth work, cooperative skills, project management at the international level, social skills. In terms of attitudes, they manifest: confidence, mutual support, making partnerships—strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing global partnerships for sustainable development. The Erasmus+ mobility allowed participants to acquire a multitude of theoretical and practical skills, which varied depending on their professional development to date as well as their level of commitment and involvement during the activities. After a systematic analysis, representatives of partner organizations established that the participants developed the following skills that helped them in their youth work: At the level of knowledge, they acquired:theoretical and practical aspects of providing pre-medical first aid, theoretical and practical aspects of providing psychological and emotional first aid, technical details about identifying emergency situations and acting accordingly, information about Erasmus+ and its funding opportunities, information about the 5 types of non-formal tools used during the mobility (integrative, creative, for intercultural learning, open space, and study visit),information about the situations in other countries and at the European level regarding programs for teaching intervention methods in emergencies to youth workers. At the level of skills, to a higher extent to provide pre-medical and psychological aid in emergencies, correct identification of emergency situations and adaptation of interventions according to their severity, work in teams in a multicultural environment, create digital results , sketch an idea in the form of a project with funding potential. As well, the youth workers of our TC have :greater confidence in their own knowledge and good practices when providing first aid, motivation to access programs aimed at the continuous education after.
