Objectives

The implementation of the “Bright Life” project was driven by a comprehensive set of objectives aimed at fostering the vital and professional growth of 21 youth workers from diverse sociocultural backgrounds. Our goals encompassed providing a space for experimentation in a creative way for generating collective narratives to combat mental health problems, highlighting the importance of bonding as a support mechanism in complicated life periods. Delving into Byung-Chul Han's philosophy adapted to youth work, we empowered participants to develop personalized strategies against stress and anxiety. We also tackled the philosophy of the psychologist Bill Plotkin mainly based on nature learning methods aimed at providing tools and resources to individuals that seek for better management of mental and health problems caused by isolation and disconnection with their inner values. Simultaneously, we equipped youth workers with innovative tools in non-formal education, emphasizing creativity, connection and personal development. “Bright Life” project had as a center the objective of creating daily acts, rituals, activities through movement, creativity, embodiment and nature practices to show the importance of having spaces that can hold us as individuals and in a collective way when experiencing a stressful life period, proving the necessity of bonding deeply and trustfully. Support throughout the learning process, especially in intercultural and non-formal education, was crucial. The creation of graphic, visual and written materials by the participants summarized the collaborative learning, while the application of these insights in local communities showcased the project's real-world impact. Importantly, our objectives aligned with the Erasmus+ program, promoting values like cooperation, diversity and human rights. By prioritizing the vital and professional development of youth workers, we aimed to enhance the quality of youth work across Europe, concurrently fostering critical and analytical thinking as the bedrock of a free-thinking democratic society. Our commitment extended beyond individual growth, promoting international cooperation, solidarity and the creation of reliable networks among European youth.
