Integrados Association, as the project coordinator, has consistently promoted the social inclusion of young people with disabilities through sports and cultural activities. Its mission focuses on fostering autonomy and ensuring the social and emotional security of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The association also works to raise awareness among youth about job placement and inclusive leisure for young people with disabilities. Partners from Romania and North Macedonia share a commitment to improving accessibility and ensuring resources are adapted for people with intellectual disabilities, particularly youth. After years of experience, the consortium agreed on the need to engage young people with disabilities in cultural, sport, and social life within their communities, providing affordable, inclusive, and meaningful opportunities. Inclusive sports and recreational activities are recognized as powerful tools to foster positive social environments where vital life skills are strengthened. Sports empower participants to challenge personal limits, promoting self-discovery and growth. They also build resilience through overcoming obstacles, encourage adaptability, and support an active, healthy lifestyle.
