We aimed to increase participation, improve media literacy skills and competencies among refugees, migrants, and disadvantaged youth. Through a combination of local activities and study visits, we sought to enhance media literacy (ML) skills among young people. Arousa Moza and Logos members were actively engaged in media, developed workshops, training, and educational tools about media literacy. Our objectives were clear: to foster dialogue between participants and participating organization and to strengthen youth participation in Poland and Spain, empowering young people to become more engaged and active media participants rather than passive consumers. We aimed to provide disadvantaged young people the opportunity to participate in something bigger than their everyday lives and to develop an innovative joint escape box game on media literacy to enhance critical thinking. The project aimed to facilitate the exchange of ideas, practices, and mobilities between organizations, embedding a stronger European dimension in local youth work. These objectives aligned with the priority of increasing quality, innovation, and recognition of youth work, while also addressing the digital transformation.
The project carried out by Arousa Moza and Logos NGO aimed to increase participation and critical thinking skills among the population, including refugees, migrants, and disadvantaged youth. The need to train these groups in communication, internet use, and social media had been identified, thus promoting their inclusion and active participation in society. Through workshops and training, the project sought to empower young people to become active and critical participants in the media, moving away from being passive consumers of information. The needs addressed by the project included improving the personal and professional development of young people, using digital tools and providing opportunities for access to international mobility programs and the awareness of checking news and not being just passive media consumers
