Objectives

The primary objective of implementing this Erasmus+ project at Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) was to advance the university’s strategic goal of internationalisation, as outlined in our 2030 strategy. Through this project, we aimed to strengthen international cooperation in education and research, integrate global perspectives into our curricula, and support the development of key competencies among students and staff. For students, the project sought to provide meaningful opportunities for international learning—both through physical mobility and through internationalisation at home. By hosting incoming students and encouraging outgoing mobility, we aimed to enrich the learning environment, enhance intercultural understanding, and equip students with international competencies that are highly valued in the labour market. Supporting students in recognising and articulating these skills was also a key objective. For staff, the project aimed to facilitate professional development and strengthen academic collaboration through teaching and training exchanges. These activities were designed to deepen institutional partnerships, support the exchange of expertise, and promote the adoption of innovative practices in teaching and research. In doing so, the project contributed to the continuous improvement of our educational and academic environment. Ultimately, the project was intended to create lasting international partnerships and embed internationalisation more deeply and sustainably into all areas of our institutional operations.
