In terms of internationalisation, Erasmus+ is one of the most important programmes for Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS). Erasmus+ activities - student and trainee mobility, teacher and staff mobility, double degree programmes, networking and collaboration projects with European and global higher education institutions and other strategic partners - such as companies, organisations and regional authorities - enhance internationalisation in accordance with the Turku UAS Global Engagement Plan and Turku UAS overall strategy. The objective of the project was to support these strategic plans which see Erasmus+ mobility as a possibility to increase the professional knowledge and to develop generic academic skills as well as social and intercultural skills and competences of students which, in turn, strengthen their readiness to live and work in a global work environment and multicultural society. Erasmus+ teacher and staff exchanges, on the other hand, provide possibilities to meet colleagues and create new professional networks as well as to exchange best practices and deepen different forms of field-specific collaboration.
