Objectives

Our objectives were: * to increase international competence for both young people from Jyväskylä and staff of Youht services * to implement youth exchanges both preventing (regional youth work, school youth work and digital youth work, all of these includes young people with fewer opportunities) and targeting youth work (youth artworkshop, outreach youth work, LBTIQ minorities) * to get more young people participate our activities, some of them are not interested anything else than international youth work. This is also very good way to encage young people to us/to our activities. In rural areas school youth work, or digital youth work are the only possibilities to take part like anything and we have those ares in Jyväskylä too. * There are some other organisations in Jyväskylä area who offer international possibilities, but they collect small participation fee. All our activities are free for young people, so anybody can participate, whatever her/his (family´s) financial situation is. We also want to offer possibility to those young peole who need special support (what can our youth workers offer) or who is from rural areas. At the end we want to offer positive experience to all young people, something to remember even when they are old. * during study visit(s) to find new partners to do youth exchanges and other international cooperation. It is very important to have feeling of trust and safety with partners and we hoped we could find or create trustful, safe place to that. Of course our target was also to find new ways to do youth work, new methods, new tools, new ideas as well as prepare our English skills, build better group spirit inside youth services and encourage all of our staff to participate international cooperation in bigger or smaller way. Job shadowing were wish and hope from our staff, they wanted to develope their professional skills and see/get known other ways to do youth work. How to share learning and other results in Jyväskylä: - we have meetings with whole our staff (~100 persons) 4 times yearly, there is 10-15min slots booked to international youth work every time it is neccessary, we can also arringe longer Teams meeting for those who are most interested and perhaps next persons to participate international cooperation. - we also write blog which is open in internet, anyone can read it and learn Our target is to organize study visit in Jyväskylä too in future. Results: A new partner was found through the outreach youth work study visit. We learned about the Belgians' ways of reaching and supporting NEET youth. We were able to share information about Finnish outreach youth work and its good practices with Belgians. For example, the use of social media to reach and communicate with young people. The study visit supported the outreach youth workers' team's connection and developed their professional skills. The study visit was the first experience of Erasmus+ activities for many, and the study visit gained the team's international expertise. Youth exchange to Ireland organized by school youth work: The main goal was to get to know a new culture, support the self-esteem and well-being of young people, develop the professional skills of the workers and strengthen the language skills of all participants.
