We wanted to bring visibility and attention to environmental issues, especially ones caused by the massive fast fashion industry. We wanted to bring people together to learn more about the topic, find new ways to improve our daily choices and make a positive example of how fun and wholesome it can be to do your own part in climate action. We hoped to achieve a visible change in the way people around us - and hopefully in our cities and countries - make their daily consumption choices. We wanted young adults with fewer opportunities to actually have a unique opportunity to experience the world and improve themselves in their own ways. Every participant had their own learning goals and motives. Some wanted to improve their language skills, some wanted to learn social skills, some wanted to step out of their comfort zone and study their limits. A youth exchange provides a safe and monitored way for each participant to grow and learn. This project can bring out the potential in people to be more active in their daily lives and be aware of their possibilities to have an effect - even internationally. We wanted to activate our international youth work now that it's possible again after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. This exchange was the first hosting experience for the Finnish organisation and it will make applying in the future much easier after the first successful project. We want to provide this opportunity in the years to come and become an active member of the Erasmus+ network. For the Italian organisation this was the first time working with a Finnish group and experience working with a municipality as a partner.
