With this project, we wanted to share tools and ideas related to adventure and outdoor activities that will upgrade youth work quality in the field of mental health. The idea of writing a project focused on preventing mental health issues inspired by practices related to Mindfulness, Peace Building, Meditation and Adventure Therapy emerged 5 yrs ago (during another TC on Outdoor Education and Inclusion in Finland) between youth workers and colleagues from Finland and France. The objectives of the project are: 1. Learn tools related to mindfulness and adventure education while experiencing their benefits on mental health and empower youth workers with a set of skills encompassing theoretical and hands on knowledge 2. Develop the professional capacities of youth workers in designing and implementing activities promoting mental health issues prevention and adventure/outdoor education based on non-formal education methods 3. Exchange best practices, concrete tools and experiences on mental health issues prevention while sharing and upgrading the understanding of adventure therapy among youth workers and young people from different countries.
