Objectives

First of all, we wanted to give our students international opportunities. Prejudice and racism arise towards what is unknown. That's why it's important that our youngsters have personal contacts with their peers in different countries and cultures. Secondly, our students need to practice their language skills. The third important reason for this project were environmental issues. We wanted all stakeholders to take a critical look at their ways to consume and at their carbon, water, plastics and ecological footprints.

Background

By creating this project, we wanted to give our students possibilities to participate, to be active and find new ways to make a difference - especially in their own lives. We wanted them to meet their peers from other countries and cultures and to practice their language skills. Our organizations need more experience of international projects and we wanted this project to be a stepping stone towards higher international status for our organizations and permanent international work of high value. We wanted to tackle racism and prejudices and show to our students, that even though we come from different cultures, speak different languages and have different kinds of habits, we're still very similar and tackle with same kinds of problems. Another important concrete objective which we wanted to achieve, is wider awareness of the joint responsibility as citizens and human beings for the well-being of the environment. We wanted green values to become more actively respected in our organizations.
