The first objective was to experiment with and promote out-of-classroom teaching methods focused on sustainability topics related to different regional water bodies. By learning directly in and from these environments, the project aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of water ecosystems and their local and global relevance and provide tools for teacher to educate these topics. A second key objective was to raise awareness among teachers and students about the environmental threats facing these water bodies . The project sought to encourage active engagement by exploring practical ways to address these challenges through education, cooperation, and sustainable practices. The third objective for teachers was to exchange local teaching methods, innovations, and best practices. All partner organisations brought their own approaches to addressing the project themes, which enriched the cooperation and benefited all partners. Through this exchange, teachers gained new perspectives and practical ideas that can be adapted to different educational contexts. Last but not least, an important objective was form lasting cooperation network and introduce new organizations to Erasmus+.
This project was initiated in response to shared concerns among the partner organisations regarding to growing environmental threats to seas and other water bodies. Younger generations face an uncertain future in the face of plethora of environmental hazards. All this can feel paralyzing. We felt that by this project, we could make a small impact. The project aimed to raise awareness through international cooperation and education, providing a platform to compare approaches, exchange best practices, and test innovative methods promoting sustainability and responsible behaviour and improve teaching of these topics. The answered to the need to find ways to empower students, many of whom experience feelings of hopelessness and anxiety in the face of climate change and environmental degradation, by showing that scientific research along with individual and collective actions can lead to positive change. Professional networking among schools and teachers was aimed to enhanced teaching quality, methods and promote long-term cooperation in Erasmus+ projects among the partners. Inclusive measures ensured students from various backgrounds could participate intercultural understanding and language skills.
