Background

When applying Europe and the world were undergoing significant changes that impacted education, teaching and the workforce in various ways. The project was initiated to address several critical needs within the educational and technological sectors. The primary motivation for applying to this project stemmed from the recognition of a significant gap in the accessibility and integration of innovative educational resources. Traditional educational models often fail to incorporate cutting-edge technology and interactive learning methods, which are essential for preparing students for the demands of the modern workforce. By addressing these needs, the CIE_Gateway project aimed to create a more inclusive, engaging, and effective educational landscape. The benefits of real-life context in learning are widely acknowledged among university of applied sciences educators. However, a major bottleneck in practice is the lack of information and models. To support universities in better preparing their students and lifelong learners for the dynamic and challenging world of work the project aimed to equip academic staff at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with tools and resources to push the boundaries in their educational delivery.
