Following on from previous Erasmus+ projects implemented within our nursing training institute (IFSI), we wanted to renew and strengthen our European commitment for the period 2023-2025. This initiative is fully in line with our strategy of international openness, which will benefit the training of our nursing students as well as the professional development of our teaching and administrative teams. We have found that the European experience provides real added value to the nursing training programme. It enables students to - gain an insight into the cultural and professional aspects of European healthcare systems - develop essential cross-disciplinary skills (autonomy, adaptability, intercultural communication) - strengthen their professional and civic attitudes in a context of mobility and European cooperation. For the professionals at our institute, Erasmus + is also a valuable opportunity to: - share and compare teaching and care practices with our European counterparts - promote our innovations and expertise on a European scale - be part of a dynamic of continuous professional development. As an IFSI within the Hospices Civils de Lyon (HCL), we are committed to representing and sharing the excellence of our hospital practices and those of the HCL's institutes and training courses. In this project, we want to continue what we have done in previous projects by welcoming and sending learners and professionals. Our experience confirms that this reciprocal cooperation approach enables each partner to benefit from these exchanges. Our ambition is to give our students and professionals an enriching, professionalising and inclusive European experience, in line with the priorities of the Erasmus programme: inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, the environment and the fight against climate change. These major themes are consistent with our institutional project. In terms of inclusion and diversity, we welcome all students, with particular attention paid to those in vulnerable situations. For example, a Disability Officer is identified and identifiable on our website (https://teamhcl.chu-lyon.fr/formation-infirmier). In terms of digital transformation, we have modernised our teaching practices using digital technology: - digital tools are integrated into courses (virtual classes, Moodle platform, interactive quizzes, online access to the HCL documentation centre, etc.) - training modules are hybrid (face-to-face/e-learning, MOOC). - the development of digital health skills is encouraged. For example, we offer all students and trainers the opportunity to take the Digital Skills in Health course provided by Lyon 1 University over a period of 3 years, leading to a University Diploma if the student has completed all the modules. Finally, with regard to the environment and the fight against climate change, we are aware that we have a particular responsibility in raising awareness of environmental issues among future professionals. In practical terms, we encourage responsible mobility. At the level of our institution (https://intranet.chu-lyon.fr/silverpeas/look/jsp/MainFrame.jsp), we organise events during mobility weeks (professionals and students are encouraged to use soft mobility (cycling, scootering, car-pooling) and sustainable development weeks (waste collection using appropriate containers, development of lunch-boxes, massive reduction in disposable crockery, etc.). Finally, every year at our open days, we see that our IFSI is identified as a committed and innovative player in the field of training and international openness. Erasmus+ mobility is a powerful lever for developing skills, international openness and the continuous improvement of nursing training. Feedback from our students and professionals confirms that they are helping to build a European, ethical and committed professional identity for the carers of tomorrow.
