Objectives

In 2023-2024, outgoing mobility among French students continued its gradual recovery, marking a real desire among young students to open up to a variety of educational and professional environments. However, this aspiration to go abroad, motivated by a desire to broaden horizons, develop transferable skills and gain a better intercultural understanding, remained hampered by an uncertain economic climate. Geopolitical tensions and persistent inflation were further obstacles to the completion of these mobility projects. In response to this growing enthusiasm for experiences abroad, Aix-Marseille Université (amU) is fully committed to supporting its students and staff in their international endeavours. It places mobility at the heart of its internationalisation strategy, offering concrete support measures tailored to the needs of all profiles. In addition to internal initiatives led by amU as part of its own policy to support the university community in their mobility projects, it is thanks in particular to the Erasmus+ programme and the implementation of the new 2023-2025 grant agreement that the institution was able to expand training, internship and skills development opportunities at European and international level to an increasingly diverse audience. In this context and as an extension of the Erasmus+ 2022-2024 agreement, amU wishes to pursue an inclusive and ambitious internationalisation strategy through this new project and has defined five main objectives: -Diversify the types of opportunities available so that everyone can enjoy an international experience, regardless of their profile. -Provide financial support to students for their projects in the face of global inflation, while promoting equal opportunities for all. -Enhance students' employability by supporting internship opportunities in a variety of professional and cultural contexts in Europe, as well as in distant destinations popular with students. - Continue the roll-out of digitalisation, the simplification of administrative processes and the strengthening of communication. -Affirm the university's commitment to the priorities of ecological transition and civic engagement in all their dimensions. In summary, whether for undergraduate or master's students, doctoral students, teaching or administrative staff, the aim of implementing this agreement is to enable everyone to benefit from these levers to enhance their mobility, employability and engagement in a higher education environment that is resolutely open to the world.
