International openness is a key aspect of the strategy at the Université Savoie Mont Blanc (USMB). Our institution has built a strong network of partnerships across Europe and the world, and actively participates in the construction of a sustainable European alliance within UNITA since the end of 2020. USMB largely benefits from the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ program to implement its international strategy. Convinced that the skills acquired during international mobility are essential both for professional life and the daily lives of European citizens, USMB is committed to promoting mobility for its students and members of staff. This project aimed at providing financial support to students and staff members wishing to undertake mobility within the European Union or in eligible countries. For students, the focus was on year-long or semester stays, as well as short-term mobilities such as internships and Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). Surveys conducted among participants reveal that these short-term mobilities meet a specific need and reach a wider audience by overcoming certain obstacles related to long-term mobility. USMB, a leader in the Erasmus rankings for its outgoing mobility in proportion to the number of students, aspires to maintain these results. Furthermore, the project sought to make mobility accessible to as many students as possible through the mobilization of various inclusion aids. The development of different types of mobility for staff, including teaching, training, job shadowing, language learning, and professional training, was also a priority. Finally, the project included the organization of four Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) with partners from the European UNITA alliance, covering four disciplinary areas: social sciences, economics, environment, and history. USMB also encourages eco-friendly mobility and actively communicates on this subject, with tangible results demonstrating its commitment to sustainable international mobility.
