Objectives

Since 2003, Jean Moulin High School has been pursuing a policy of international development at both secondary and higher education levels. The BTS Tourism programme trains senior technicians who are able to work in the sector as soon as they graduate. Language practice in a hospitality setting is at the heart of the programme, making the ERASMUS+ project an indispensable tool for acquiring professional and language skills. Partnerships are established according to the objectives set by the new BTS reference framework, which offers training in blocks of skills. In our training, the focus is on English and then Spanish. The target companies are hotel chains, receptive agencies, tourist sites (museums, equestrian centres, etc.). The Erasmus project is an opportunity to develop activities during workshops on the following themes: customers with specific needs in tourism, sustainable development by organising educational outings, and interculturality by bringing English and Spanish language assistants into the classroom. For this agreement, we also emphasised the recognition of mobility by introducing the option of professional training abroad, which is mentioned on the BTS diploma. This option was taught by the language teacher in BTS 1 for the whole class, and in BTS 2, six students were supervised by tourism teachers in order to present the option at the exam.
