Since its creation in 1995, the Université Bretagne Sud (UBS) has been actively engaged in international cooperation, particularly through the Erasmus+ programme, which promotes student and staff mobility. As part of this project, UBS has expanded its European cooperation by involving four Bachelor of Technology programmes (Industrial Engineering & Maintenance, Computer Science, Marketing Techniques, and Business Administration) as well as the five departments of the School of Engineering (Civil Engineering, Cybersecurity, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, and Hydrogen) to strengthen and diversify academic mobility. The project pursued a dual objective: first, to engage new academic programmes that were not yet widely involved in European mobility schemes, and second, to offer a greater number of teachers, researchers, and students, from the second year of undergraduate/BUT studies to the Master’s level, the opportunity to experience academic mobility in Europe. Furthermore, UBS worked with several European universities to implement two Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), thus contributing to the diversification of mobility formats promoted under the Erasmus+ framework. In addition, UBS is a member of the European university alliance EMERGE, which provides a strategic framework for developing joint initiatives, fostering interdisciplinary projects, and sharing resources and best practices. This membership reflects UBS’s strong commitment to being an active and long-term player within the European Higher Education and Research Area. This project is fully aligned with the strategic vision of the university’s new governance, which reaffirms European cooperation as a key pillar of institutional development. Through these initiatives, UBS strengthens its position within European networks, enhances the international visibility of its study programmes and research activities, and actively contributes to building a European academic area based on mobility, innovation, and shared knowledge.
