We want to give our Brevet de Technicien Supérieur, Management in Hospitality and Catering students the opportunity to do their 16-week internship abroad. This internship allows them to acquire professional and managerial skills. Even if culinary techniques are not as developed in some companies as they are in France, the speed of execution, the complexity of the menus and a different approach to management greatly enrich their experience and give them the keys to their future career as managers here or in Europe. In addition to these skills, this mobility opens their minds, both in terms of food products and the globalisation of gastronomy. Whether in service or accommodation, customer service is also different from that practised in France, and their experience allows them to consider other models that work just as well. Of course, the internship also allows them to develop their language skills, particularly in English. After this experience, they dare to consider a future elsewhere and are also less afraid of international kitchen teams. Their Curriculum Vitaes, enriched by international experience, improve their employability and/or their pursuit of professional degree studies. Furthermore, the international outlook offered by the school attracts many BTS candidates and gives the Lycée Hôtelier International de Lille, regional and national recognition.
