The project aimed to strengthen and structure the internationalisation strategy of the CREPS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in the field of outdoor sports, through high-quality mobility opportunities for students and staff. It was part of a broader ambition to expand European engagement and promote the mutual recognition of qualifications in a sector still underrepresented in Erasmus+ programmes. Three main objectives guided the project implementation: 1. Empower learners through international mobility experiences The primary objective was to offer mobility opportunities abroad to trainees enrolled in EQF level 5 programmes (State Diplomas), directly linked to their professional pathways (e.g. climbing, mountain biking, sled dog sports, ice skating). These experiences were intended to: foster exposure to diverse pedagogical, technical and cultural environments; enhance linguistic and intercultural skills; build autonomy, adaptability, and initiative in new contexts; improve employability at the European level. 2. Support teaching staff in adapting and innovating training pathways The project also addressed the need for capacity-building among staff members, notably through: job shadowing and teaching missions abroad; strengthened institutional partnerships with universities, professional bodies, federations and NGOs; increased understanding of European standards (ECTS, learning outcomes, safety and supervision frameworks…). These mobilities were carefully designed to equip staff to support learners in accessing more open, transparent, and European-compatible training routes. 3. Develop a stable European network focused on ecological transition and outdoor sports This project was aligned with the CREPS’ broader trajectory: the development of a European Centre for Outdoor Sports, at the intersection of vocational education and training, pedagogical innovation, and ecological transition. Through the mobilities carried out, the project contributed to: identifying key strategic partners in Nordic countries, Central Europe, Canada and Switzerland; enhancing the visibility and legitimacy of the CREPS as a European stakeholder in outdoor sport; preparing the ground for future joint programmes (hybrid mobility, BIP, KA2 cooperation projects…). Cross-cutting priorities: The project also integrated core Erasmus+ priorities: inclusion, by enabling access to mobility for learners facing financial or structural barriers; eco-responsibility, by favouring low-impact travel solutions whenever possible; transparency of learning outcomes, by generalising the use of a bilingual competence portfolio and experimenting with recognition tools to support automatic validation of learning achievements. Finally, the project aimed to shift from an opportunistic approach to mobility towards a more integrated, sustainable and strategic model, serving a European educational community committed to the future of outdoor sports and socio-ecological transformation.
