Objectives

The implementation of the 2023 Erasmus+ project by the Université Paris-Saclay reflects a strong institutional ambition: to make European and international openness a lever for transformation across its academic programs, research, student community, and staff. This project is at the core of the university’s internationalization strategy and its commitment to actively contributing to the construction of the European Education Area. Through mobility, Paris-Saclay aims to offer every participant—student, doctoral candidate, faculty member, or administrative staff—a meaningful and enriching international experience. The objective is to enable everyone to develop academic and scientific, professional, linguistic, cultural, and interpersonal skills essential in a globalized world. Mobility is also a driver of openness, citizenship, and responsibility. The university places particular emphasis on equal opportunities and inclusion, ensuring that mobility is accessible to all profiles, including those traditionally underrepresented in such programs, such as students with disabilities, those with fewer financial resources, apprentices, or students from specific fields like education or health. Concrete actions have been taken to promote financial and organizational support mechanisms available at Paris-Saclay and among partner institutions, including targeted information campaigns and personalized support for these groups. Short and hybrid mobility formats have also been especially promoted to address the specific constraints of certain programs, such as MEEF master’s degrees or health-related studies, which are less compatible with long-term mobility. The university is also actively committed to the digital transformation of mobility: all procedures are now fully digital, with the learning agreement completed entirely online via the Moveon platform, and the development of electronic signature for mobility agreements underway. In parallel, efforts are being made to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices: students are encouraged to choose eco-friendly modes of transport, in line with soft mobility initiatives, and are granted a specific financial bonus when they travel by train, carpooling, or bus. For the university, the Erasmus+ program is a key instrument for structuring international cooperation. It strengthens partnerships with higher education institutions worldwide, supports the development of joint degree programs, and fosters the creation of transnational networks. It also contributes to the professional development of staff, the quality of student services, and pedagogical innovation. Finally, this project contributes directly to the implementation of the university’s Erasmus+ policy statement, which aims to embed the European dimension across all institutional missions. This commitment is further reinforced by the university’s coordination of the European University Alliance EUGLOH. By leveraging the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program, Université Paris-Saclay affirms its active role in building an open, inclusive, sustainable, and globally connected university.
