Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to strengthen the exchange of knowledge between European institutions through the mobility of students for internships and studies, as well as that of teaching and research staff and administrative personnel. We also wanted to continue our commitment to the ecological transition by offering and funding mobility opportunities that rely on environmentally friendly modes of transport. Furthermore, we were committed to maintaining our focus on inclusion by providing a flat-rate supplement to students with disabilities or from low-income backgrounds during their mobility period. École Polytechnique is a public institution of higher education in engineering, with a scientific, cultural, and professional orientation. The 2023 Erasmus+ project at the School primarily focused on the mobility of students in the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program (two semesters of study or internships lasting 4 to 5 months). As has been the case since 2018, it also included students in the Bachelor of Science program (one semester of study abroad in the fall) and the new Master of Science and Technology (MSc&T) programs, for which internship mobilities were organized. During the implementation of the project, the number of mobilities supported exceeded initial forecasts. In total, 114 mobilities were funded, while 137 mobilities were actually carried out. Students received partial financial support during their mobility. This project thus significantly contributed to the internationalization of École Polytechnique and to the development of multicultural and transversal skills among its students. It allowed them to immerse themselves in a European country, giving them the opportunity to discover different pedagogical, professional, and cultural approaches. This experience also fostered civic engagement and the promotion of democratic values through both formal and informal learning linked to intercultural exchanges. In this context, the Erasmus+ project aimed to provide financial support to students during their mobility abroad.
