The student and staff mobility project in higher education, awarded in 2023 under the Erasmus+ programme, is fully aligned with the internationalisation strategy of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Its main objective was to promote and support outgoing mobility for both students (for study or internships) and staff (for teaching or training activities), by providing appropriate financial support. Aware of the challenges associated with international mobility, the university aimed to make this formative experience accessible to as many people as possible, particularly those who might be excluded due to economic, social, or personal reasons. With this in mind, special attention was given to the inclusiveness of the programme. Thanks to new measures introduced in the 2021–2027 Erasmus+ programme—such as short-term mobility, inclusion support, and green mobility top-ups—the university was able to offer flexible solutions tailored to the specific needs of each participant. The project also helped strengthen the university community’s involvement in innovative European initiatives developed within the framework of our European alliance. These included thematic “staff weeks” for administrative and teaching staff, the implementation of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) for students—particularly PhD candidates—and the “Live my Life” project, which promotes professional and cultural immersion among European partners. Moreover, special attention was given to students enrolled in programmes where long-term mobility is difficult to implement, such as work-study programmes or certain specialised master’s degrees. For these groups, the development of short-term mobility represented a valuable opportunity to gain international experience without compromising their academic or professional paths. In summary, this project contributed to strengthening the international outlook of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, while promoting more inclusive, sustainable, and innovative mobility. It is part of a broader dynamic aimed at making mobility a lever for pedagogical transformation, personal enrichment, and enhanced European cooperation.
