Objectives

Beaux-Arts de Marseille is a privileged platform for building an international network, both within and beyond the Mediterranean basin. Thanks to our thirty-two partner schools and universities under the Erasmus+ program and our twenty cooperation agreements outside Europe, international exchanges take many forms: student mobility, teaching and administrative mobility, internationally oriented research, intensive hybrid workshops, invitations for international students, artists, and teachers, international residencies for graduates, and a welcoming and welcoming environment for students and artists in exile. We act as a network, promoting the circulation and professionalization of young artists across the Mediterranean through the Miramar network and promoting artistic experimentation and its dissemination through the Painting network. We thus position the Beaux-Arts de Marseille as a major platform, enabling a strong network in the Mediterranean and the Global South, while acting as a driving force and facilitating access to Mediterranean and African territories, thus becoming an essential gateway. Our projects include joint residencies hosting international artists, the proliferation of local and international workshops, programming initiatives, and networking opportunities for artists. Our collaborations extend to consulates, the Ecole(s) du Sud network, a network of art schools and the Mediterranean, the ELIA network, and the biennials and fairs in which we participate throughout the year (Milan, Tetouan, Dakar, Tbilisi). As an institution located in a gateway city to Africa, we position ourselves as a Mediterranean and European reference, in line with the cultural policies of the City of Marseille. Our ambitions are rooted in the establishment of a structuring partnership tool. The international dimension translates into educational exchanges, ambitious programs, and innovative partnerships outside of traditional student exchange programs, such as the Mediterranean Art and Skills Program. At the heart of our concerns are inclusion and a more equitable approach to arts education. We seek to establish differentiated and comprehensive scholarships, drawing on the Campus Art network (Campus France for the Arts) as well as local (Sud Region), national (Ministry of Culture), and European (OFAJ, Erasmus+) funding. To mark the 20th anniversary of the Pisourd Program, we are working with international partners such as the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul to develop avenues for artistic, linguistic, and social reflection, which are the true conditions for a cultural diversity of Deaf and hearing people. The goal is to open our schools to less privileged international students, while strengthening our equal opportunity policy.
