Objectives

Through the KA131 Erasmus+ project, our aim was to give concrete expression to our Europeanisation strategy and strengthen our integration into the European Higher Education Area. Internationalisation lies at the heart of Sorbonne Nouvelle’s identity as a “university of cultures”, focused on education and research in the arts, literature, languages, and social sciences, and home to a diverse community where one in three students is international. In line with the creation of a Vice-Presidency for Europe and our active involvement in the YUFE European alliance, our goals were manifold: to deepen inter-institutional cooperation, to develop a wide range of mobility formats – including internships, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), summer schools, and staff mobility – to integrate multilingual European course units into our curricula, and to continue developing joint degree programmes. The project also enabled us to strengthen and promote our network of over 200 partner universities across all programme countries, particularly in Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. It reflects our commitment to educating open-minded, multilingual, autonomous, and culturally engaged citizens, and to positioning Sorbonne Nouvelle as a truly European university – inclusive, committed, and fully engaged in academic and scientific cooperation across the continent.
