Objectives

Since we began participating in Key Action KA103/KA131 of the Erasmus+ programme, the goal of the Université Lumière Lyon 2, a renowned public university specialising in humanities and social sciences, has been to enable as many participants as possible to take advantage of mobility opportunities within the programme and thus benefit from a formative experience whose academic and personal advantages are well established. Beyond individual participation, the mobility opportunities offered help to consolidate a network of partnerships that also contribute to the development of new training programmes and joint research between European institutions: implementation of double degrees, participation in joint research projects and, more recently, integration into a structuring European alliance (Alliance Bauhaus4EU). In a difficult context in recent years, which has seen a decline in the desire for mobility (student vulnerability, rising rents, eco-anxiety, psychological fragility when leaving home, etc.), we wanted to rekindle students' desire to participate in Erasmus+ mobility, particularly for students for whom mobility seems an unattainable goal. We wanted to give them an opening to Europe, notably by offering shorter mobility programmes (within the framework of BIP) and more support and preparation for long-term mobility, whether outgoing or incoming. We also wanted to become more involved in the programme's horizontal priorities, particularly inclusion and environmentally-friendly mobility. Another of our objectives was to further develop staff mobility, as this both strengthens our partnerships and their quality and encourages student mobility. We have launched several communication campaigns targeting staff in this regard. Our objectives are in line with those listed in our Erasmus+ strategy, in particular Objective 1 (Increase incoming and outgoing mobility of students and teaching and administrative staff while ensuring the quality of exchanges) and Objective 4 (Promote a European Erasmus+ culture within the Université Lumière Lyon 2).
