Objectives

The ERASMUS project has given us the means to do this, in particular by enabling our students to spend their periods of training in a professional environment abroad, so that they can sign up for the “professionalisation course abroad” option. Our ECHE charter enables us to make this scheme accessible to as many people as possible, because of our ultra-preferential nature. We wanted to offer all students, whatever their social background, who so wished the opportunity to spend their training period in a professional environment abroad, both in Europe and beyond. Our students come from different backgrounds (vocational, general or technological high schools) and from an outermost academy whose economy is still developing, which leads to disparities in terms of the socio-professional categories of the families, with multiple impacts, differences in access to digital technology and an undefined professional project. Total immersion abroad, which is often the first departure from the island and the first separation from the family cocoon, makes a major contribution to building citizenship. The work placement encourages the use of the tools and techniques taught and therefore the development of professional skills, while living in a foreign country helps to improve language skills.
