Objectives

The CIHEAM-IAMM collaborates scientifically with several universities and research institutes in Europe. These exchanges are structured around three main axes: supporting CIHEAM-IAMM master's programs, supporting CIHEAM-IAMM's research activities, mainly through research and development projects relying more particularly on its LAMES doctoral platform, and finally supporting the capacity building of young researchers on multi-criteria and multi-scale analysis methods to address climate and socio-economic challenges. The Erasmus mobilities proposed here cover these three priority axes. They specifically aimed to: i) support the development of a course module on modeling the performance of agricultural systems in an uncertain climate context using Turkey as a case study; ii) write a scientific article on the resilience of agricultural systems in Portugal to climate change and overexploitation of natural resources. They also facilitated interactions between different local actors in order to find technical and governance alternatives to current, less resilient systems; and iii) develop a conceptual analysis framework to identify and test different levers aimed at facilitating the agroecological transition in Europe. This important work should inform the thinking and tools deployed by CIHEAM-IAMM and its partners in at least two main projects: NATAE (Horizon Europe) and ARADINA in Lebanon (AFD project).
