Objectives

This Erasmus+ 2023-2025 mobility project is supported by the University of Toulouse and managed by the University's Department of International Mobility and Training (DMFI), created in September 2023 in the wake of an internal reorganisation of services. This project is an essential and indispensable project for the institution, enabling it to implement its international strategy. The University of Toulouse being a resolutely international university, international cooperation is one of its cross-disciplinary missions. It welcomes over 36,000 students - 4,000 of whom are international - and employs around 4,000 staff - 1,500 of whom are research professors or researchers. The university focuses on cutting-edge scientific fields such as computer science, aerospace, materials science and medicine. It is a key player in the international policy of Toulouse's universities. Its characteristics make it a university capable of developing an ambitious international strategy, the central pillar of which is to increase its influence, particularly through international mobility, and to ensure the excellence of the education of all its students. This strategy has been designed to be adapted to our institution and to develop actions that tend to be sustainable and equitable for all partners, as recommended by the European Union's political priorities in terms of European university cooperation. The Erasmus+ KA131 programme is therefore an excellent opportunity for our institution: it provides methodological support, facilitation and financial backing. Our university has a vision of international cooperation that is fully in line with that of the Erasmus+ programme: to structure and improve European and international networks and partnerships, to surpass ourselves with an emulation effect that carries all levels of the university and, of course, to position international cooperation in the service of the training and education of our students in European citizenship, international solidarity and diversity. Our internationalisation strategy for KA131 mobility projects is, more specifically, structured around three main objectives: 1. Internationalisation of students, teachers and staff through Erasmus+ mobilities: An international mobility is a formidable vector of cultural, intellectual, personal, academic and pedagogical development for the participants, whether they are students or members of staff. Learning is multidimensional. Participants develop an international profile, fostering open-mindedness, European citizenship, access to employment and an increase in intercultural and professional skills. 2. Internationalisation of the campus and the courses by hosting international students and teachers under the Erasmus+ programme: Hosting international students and teachers makes a major contribution to the internationalisation of our campus and enables students remaining in France to benefit from the positive effects of the programme: development of intercultural skills, participation in mentoring schemes, discovery of new teaching methods, etc. Incoming students contribute to the internationalisation of our trainings insofar as, as part of their welcome, groups of tutorials and practical work taught entirely in English can be offered, and our students being able to take part in these. 3. International influence of our university and contribution to the modernisation of institutions: The project is a formidable showcase for our institution's visibility on the European stage and it offers opportunities for transnational cooperation. It enables the University and partner organisations to share know-how and develop networks on an international scale, stimulating cooperation between the administrative departments of the various institutions and contributing to the dissemination of best practices in student mobility management and European project management. Finally, our internationalisation objectives are based on values that have been established as principles: non-discrimination, transparency and inclusion for all candidates for mobility - staff and students. In order to substantially increase the number of beneficiaries, we are working to increase financial support, improve access to English language courses and cooperate more closely with the university's disability mission.
