Objectives

Paris Nanterre University, which hosts nearly 34,000 students and employs around 2,200 staff members, has held the Erasmus Charter since 1999. International openness, in both education and research, is a strategic priority that shapes the university’s overall action. It is reflected in strong support for student and staff mobility, the development of double degrees, and the strengthening of solid partnerships. This policy has led to a steady increase in Erasmus+ agreements and an ever-expanding network of partners. Europe lies at the core of this strategy, as demonstrated by the university’s active role in the EDUC alliance (European Digital UniverCity), selected under the “European Universities” initiative, of which Paris Nanterre has been a founding member since 2019. To achieve its objectives, the institution makes full use of Erasmus+ opportunities, combining them with other sources of funding at local, national, and European levels. This integrated approach generates synergies, diversifies cooperation formats, and broadens mobility opportunities. Finally, the international strategy relies on an inclusive approach involving students, academic staff, and administrative staff alike, with the aim of fostering and embedding a shared European culture within the university community.
