Objectives

We focused and tried to achieve these goals: - increased the awareness of the science and technology literacy of the students to 70% - formed a teacher profile that can awake the students’ interest and curiosity focused on experiment-based methods - increased the number of teachers using new methods STEM, Learning by doing and Robotics applications - by supplying the ways of exploring in accordance with their interest, skill and potential and conveying them that could be gained through science - turned into an educational nest that could meet community’s needs and can organize international activities The aims of this project were: increased the success of science subjects/the awareness of science and technology literacy among students aged 12-17 years old at the partner schools (more than 500 pupils, aged 12-17), among many teachers (at least 50%) and provided science education with new innovative methods; STEM, Learning by Doing, and Robotics&Coding(ICT) applications that supported constructive approach. That's what we wanted to achieve thanks to the partnership.

Background

As educational institutions, we are aware of the fact the world is constantly changing and developing. Reaching the knowledge is the basis of that change. The countries producing, developing and spreading knowledge are far ahead in the name of technology and education. Science is the major field taught and studied in partner schools. According to PISA 2018 results, the results in the field of science weren’t satisfying in our countries. According to OECD average result (489), some partner countries are behind the average: Turkey (468), Romania (426), and France (493). Being aware of that we are trying to increase the success in those fields by organizing activities and increasing the students’ awareness of science. In this respect, we implemented innovative methods such as STEM, Learning by Doing, Robotics (ICT). We also held science school trips, visited local science centres, took part in national science projects, and organized science fair at schools. This was the main motivation and need in order to apply the project.
