Objectives

In our project, we wanted our target audience to use digital platforms responsibly, comprehend the basics of a safer internet, and improve their understanding of digital technologies for teaching and learning, as well as improve their digital abilities in all areas. We wanted to develop learning content of high-quality, user-friendly tools and risk-free platforms that respected privacy and ethical norms by enhancing their digital competencies and literacy+

Background

We recognized the growing and urgent need to EDUCATE children and students to digital literacy. Nowadays, there is a growing need because of the constant and exponential use and presence of the digital environment. We recognized its benefits but the risks the society is facing are also considerable and cannot be neglected. The society is not prepared enough to face these dangers. We needed to provide useful tools and methods to adults (teachers, parents) to help and accompany the young generation. The students also need to receive an education on these risks in order to be prepared - to recognize and cope with them, as well as to avoid any further issues. The threats are numerous: fake news and disinformation, cyber-bullying, harassment, dependency or the AI- malware powered. Our motivation was based on the everyday observation and on the results of European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children, the EU 2020 Strategy, and the Digital Education Plan 2021–2027, as it follows the axes and the values of the EUROPEAN UNION and corresponds to the needs of today's society.
