Our main goal was to encourage civic engagement through our exchanges and the topic of Europe appeared obvious due to the students' questions. We hoped to go and meet an Euro deputy in the European Parliament but we had to meet in person first to get to know each other and especially our ways of living, thus the first two mobilities in Norway and France. But there was no way we would create discriminations based on social status or disability. To do so, we needed your grant, also because in Norway, school related activites have to remain free for families. last but not least, all our activities were conducted in the language we're both learning: English! Through very tangible action, students better grasp the linguisitc tools available and learn much quicker how to manage a new language.
After Covid, it was a priority for us to connect again with our partners to open young people to the world after a long period of isolation. We were faced with students who had not much motivation and a kind of pessimism about the future. We wanted to ignite something. We first exchanged virtually with emails and cards but we wanted to go further, hence our application to Erasmus+. Students were asking questions about the status of Norway in Europe. That's why we wanted to go deeper on this subject as well as tackling stereotypes and representations. The idea came to work on our common values and ancestors to focus on what brings us together rather than what divides us. Our needs were as followed: inciting young people to use the English language in a tangible way to gain fluency, being a ble to make no differences regarding students, fighting against stereotypes and discriminations, encouraging students'involvement, focusing on European values, promoting French language about young Norwegian students.
