Objectives

Our goal was to provide the students with an experience of exchange and sharing with a European partner. We also wanted to raise their awareness of sustainable development issues through civic actions throughout the exchange. This allowed us to develop in them a sense of belonging to a broader European framework. They were able to discover the various bodies of the European Union and the impact they can have on their daily lives. They were also able to see the commonalities they had with our Italian partners, and as future European citizens.

Background

We applied for this project because we wanted to offer our students the opportunity to meet others, to open up to another culture, and to develop their language skills. We have a population of socially disadvantaged students with very diverse backgrounds. Some are from immigrant backgrounds and have limited French, others have learning difficulties or even disabilities. The Erasmus program allowed us to offer them an opportunity they don't benefit from in their daily lives.
