This project educated students about sustainable development issues through concrete actions. These actions led students to become aware of their impact on their school, their city, their partners, Europe, and the planet, in line with the European Union Charter 2021-2027. The project strengthened the sense of European belonging and encouraged civic engagement. Transnational meetings contributed greatly to this. The schools participated in the "Erasmus Days." Temporary exhibitions were organized throughout the project. We worked with several local partners. Improved digital and language skills were achieved through the following activities: exchange of environmental data, correspondence, creation of online magazines, digital media, and shared videos. The students developed their critical thinking skills: faced with a problem: how to reduce our impact on the environment (garden, air quality, food, transport), they proposed concrete solutions, tested using the scientific method.
We led the "Smart Cities and Sustainable Development" project for our schools and communities to raise awareness about climate change, improve our inclusion programs, strengthen the digital and language skills of students and teachers, and develop civic engagement. The project promoted the inclusion of our students from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs through an innovative pedagogical approach to prevent school dropouts. This project integrated students from ULIS classes and newly arrived students into a joint project on sustainable development, while also providing opportunities for students from disadvantaged backgrounds to travel. The use of ICT helped manage diversity and increase motivation. The project enabled students to improve and strengthen their foreign language skills through authentic exchanges and collaborative activities. This project strengthened the attractiveness of our schools, particularly through the creation of lasting partnerships at the local and European levels.
