We wanted the students to be able to take ownership of their knowledge and pass on the story to their peers, both through the visits they had to organize and through the creation of the documentary. The main objective was to work on European values by putting history and culture into perspective.
We applied to have the students work on the notion of European identity through historical and cultural themes. Pupils from three European countries were able to meet scientific partners and discover emblematic sites from the Middle Ages in order to deconstruct stereotypes of the period. They were able to link European sites to understand the historical stakes of this period. At the same time, they worked on a historical documentary recounting their work.
