Objectives

As part of the accreditation process and as agreed in the action plan, the Department implemented two activities: the youth exchange in June 2023 and the mobility of actors in June 2024. The youth exchange activity took place in Greece from 14 to 19 June 2024 and involved volunteering for cultural and sporting events. The professional development activity took place in Belgium from 24 to 29 June 2024 and included study visits in the field of social work. These projects achieved a number of important objectives. Concerning the youth exchange in Greece: - Development of cross-cutting skills: participants were able to improve skills that are useful for fostering employability. In fact, the European mobility experience enabled them to strengthen their intercultural and linguistic skills, as well as their autonomy. - Raising awareness of European citizenship: this practical experience gave young people a better grasp of the issues involved in European citizenship. - Promoting European mobility: the young people were informed about mobility schemes and the opportunities offered by Erasmus +, thereby encouraging their future participation in other projects. Concerning the professional development activity in Belgium: - Encouraging staff mobility: mobility has enabled staff to develop non-formal, cross-disciplinary skills that can be used in their professional careers. - Comparing professional practices: exchanges in a multicultural context have enriched participants' professional practices. - Development of European partnerships: collaborations have been established on themes such as social issues, democracy and European citizenship. These partnerships could lead to work on joint projects, through other European funding.
