Objectives

This exchange of youths was part of our accreditation project, which aimed to maintain a solid partnership dynamic, reinforcing civic education by and for youths in a transnational logic. The main objective is to enable youths to experience intercultural exchanges, and through these exchanges to become involved in international citizenship and strengthen their individual and collective involvement. These exchanges also aim to establish a reciprocal logic, where youth from various countries learn and exchange together, and to make intercultural exchanges accessible to a wide range of youth profiles. Each youth exchange explores a particular theme in depth, to raise awareness amoung the youth to a global issue and strengthen the structure's commitment to the subject. By learning what Education for Citizenship and International Solidarity (ECIS (FR = ECSI)) and popular education are, the aim is for participants to co-construct awareness-raising tools together. The aims of these youth exchanges, and more broadly of the accreditation we have received, are fully in line with the global transformation desired by Engagé-e-s & Déterminé-e-s, in other words, the integration of international solidarity within society, by increasing the power of youth to act on key issues. The objectives of this project are in line with those of the accreditation program : Promote intercultural encounters and dialogue between youth. Build awareness-raising tools by and for youth. Encourage youth to take action by building a common voice. Enable equal access to international mobility, particularly intercultural encounters. E&D and its partners fulfill these aims by organizing regular, long-term youth exchanges, with themes that evolve over time, but are part of a continuum of encounters, development and re-employability of skills, awareness-raising and reinforcement of practices, for both youth and organizations. For this edition, the project was called “REgards Croisés et InTerculturels : appropriation et positionnement des jeunes face au sport et ses enjeux” (RECIT'SPORT). The theme for this edition was chosen in liaison with the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, reflecting the importance of sport as a tool for inclusion. The sub-themes addressed issues such as ecology, gender, disability and exclusion, aligned with associative realities and youth concerns. The aim was to explore sport from a historical, critical and, above all, intercultural perspective. The aim of the exchange was not merely theoretical learning, but to encourage the participants to reflect and take a stand on an issue that concerns them. Sport was approached by each country in an intercultural way, to observe the dynamics, similarities and differences between the different organizations and actors, the power to act, as well as the limits. The outcome of the project was the creation of ECIS tools, by and for young people, to raise awareness of sport issues among their peers. The aim was to empower youth, not only through increased knowledge, but also and above all through the acquisition of informal skills and intercultural know-how/social skills.
