Objectives

Our project, titled #MIND - Multicultural Initiative for a New Dialogue, was conceived with the ambition to bolster intercultural competence and champion anti-discrimination among youth through the medium of non-formal education. The overarching aim was to augment language and communication skills, elevate awareness of diverse cultures, counter discrimination, and cultivate a strong sense of community amongst participants. By empowering young individuals and furnishing them with essential skills for intercultural dialogue and social cohesion, we sought to make a meaningful impact. The objectives of our project were multifaceted and aimed at addressing various dimensions of intercultural understanding and engagement: Promote Intercultural Learning and Dialogue: Foster interactions among young people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, encouraging them to learn from one another and understand diverse perspectives. Equip with Intercultural Competencies: Provide young participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and mitigate conflicts, preventing youth radicalization and fostering a more inclusive society. Foster Tolerance and Respect: Encourage acceptance and respect for individuals from cultures different from one's own, highlighting the value of diversity and the richness it brings to communities. Encourage Youth Participation in Public Life: Motivate young individuals to actively participate in public life, using intercultural learning and dialogue as tools to engage with broader societal issues and contribute positively to their communities. Develop Youth-Led Initiatives: Support the creation and implementation of initiatives by young people aimed at enhancing intercultural dialogue and reducing radicalization within multicultural settings. Through these objectives, our project aimed to create a ripple effect of understanding, tolerance, and active engagement among youth, contributing to the building of more cohesive and inclusive societies.
