Objectives

When we designed the project “Increase your employability, build your future : a cross-cultural exchange to better navigate the European job market”, we wanted to address the issue of youth unemployment throughout the European Union, both with Outermost, Western, Southern and Eastern perspectives. We’d identified 6 main objectives related to employability, self-development, and European integration. 1. Better understand the European and the participating countries’ local job market ; 2. Exchange on youngsters’ struggles, feelings and tips to integrate the job market ; 3. Give youngsters the tools and know-how to facilitate their social and professional integration, such as : job-searching skills, writing a CV and making a video CV, going on an interview, computer and digital skills, etc. 4. Support youngsters’ in building their future by connecting them together, building up their self-confidence and making them reflect on their dreams, needs and personal capacities. 5. Binding mainland Europe and overseas territories together. This will be done in two steps. First, in fostering youngsters’ European feeling and understanding. Second, in building up a strong partnership between youth workers and organisations from all over Europe. 6. Foster solidarity and tolerance in a multicultural setting. The European Union is first and foremost an intercultural Union in which common values link together diverse populations and realities. Solidarity and tolerance are essential values to build the EU of tomorrow. While the first mobility focused on the participants’ personal development, acquiring the basic tools and attitudes required in job-searching as well as knowledge on the European job-market, the second mobility strongly concentrated on digital skills for employability. In relation to the objectives of the Erasmus programme and those of Youth Exchanges, we wished to foster : Diversity and inclusion, Digital transformation, Sustainability, Develop skills and attitudes of youngsters, European identity and active citizenship.
