This Youth Exchange was implemented to promote youth awareness on various opportunities and new developments created by social media. Social media allowed young people to advance with their online identities, communicate with others, build their social networks, which also provide them with valuable support. They also use social media for entertainment, self-expression, self-development. All these allowed participant teens and young people to interact across geographical barriers,to be aware of a variety of subjects and trends, to have meaningful connections to peers and to avoid depression. On the other hand the use of social media and media in general could also have negative effects spreading unrealistic views of other people’s lives, exposing them to bullying or cybersecurity dangers, disrupting their sleep, spreading rumors etc. Therefore, the project was designed in way to have the following objectives: -Sensibilize young people towards media literacy and effective tools - Sharing effective and useful media and social media tools to be used in self-development context - Give effective tips of being aware and literate while using media and social media tools - Replenish non-formal education toolbox with new sets of tools related to media literacy and social media usage -Come up with follow-up activities in the principle of multiplication fostering quality improvements in youth work enhancing soft skills of young people for participation and social inclusion All the initial objectives set by the project were met due to the well planned agenda, which was based on the initial expectations and experience of the participants.
