The application proposed: “Across Europe, a large part of the population, particularly young people, refugees, migrants and people with disabilities, face the challenges of social exclusion. This phenomenon has negative consequences because it often leads to a decrease in social engagement, increased poverty and poorer health conditions. The role of the cultural sector is vital; it is an important tool for fostering social inclusion as it has the potential to bring people from different backgrounds together and create a sense of community. Theater is known for promoting social inclusion, particularly among young people who might feel excluded or neglected. Engaging in theater allows young people to hone skills such as communication, teamwork and creativity, while increasing their self-confidence and self-esteem. Theater also helps young people from different places and cultures connect with each other, which promotes empathy and understanding. Thus, “Dramatic Paths to Inclusion” seeks to use theater as a means to promote social inclusion and break down barriers for marginalized youth. By promoting the benefits of the arts for social inclusion applied to intercultural dialogue, the project aims to combat social exclusion and promote a more inclusive and connected Euro-Mediterranean space”. To achieve this general objective, the project had the following objectives: - Develop participants' theatrical skills and abilities, including improvisation, text writing and performance techniques. - Use theater as a way to challenge stereotypes and promote empathy and intercultural understanding. - Provide young participants with the opportunity to develop their creativity, communication and collaboration skills through participation in theater workshops and performances. - Increase awareness of social exclusion and mental health issues among young people and promote empathy and understanding towards those who may be struggling.
