For 60 years, REMPART has been France's leading association organising volunteer projects for heritage restoration. Recognised as a public utility, the association is dedicated to promoting some 350 annual projects carried out by its member associations throughout France and around the world. Beyond its chantiers and connecting volunteers with host associations, REMPART has positioned itself since its inception as a leading organisation in the training of chantiers leaders. By passing on the human, technical and logistical skills needed to organise responsible, fulfilling and sustainable chantiers, REMPART has been supporting a large network of heritage and transmission experts for several decades. At all levels, from local to international, REMPART also promotes the importance of safeguarding our common heritage through voluntary action and has always used it as a means of fostering community spirit and personal fulfilment. Over the years, REMPART has built lasting relationships with partners around the world, particularly in Europe. These associations work within their respective communities to raise awareness among all audiences, especially young people, about heritage restoration. With our respective experience in organising youth work camps, we understand the individual and collective benefits for personal development, community living and a sense of belonging. We wanted to bring this expertise and these benefits to the European level in order to broaden our horizons and reach even more young people whose mobility has been made possible by this project. The lasting links that REMPART has forged with its international partners over the years have led to a shared vision and a common desire to involve young people from our respective countries in a meaningful and engaging project on a European scale. Together with all our partners, we share the goal of making heritage accessible to all and using it as a vehicle for living together. Although some international volunteer exchanges between REMPART and its partners already existed before this project, KA152 has given a whole new dimension to our ambitions and enabled the involvement of nearly 230 young people from all over Europe, regardless of social, cultural or economic differences. Overall, our objective is to contribute to strengthening European citizenship, social inclusion and intercultural dialogue among young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities, through youth exchanges based on the preservation of cultural heritage and the principles of popular education. Our project is therefore structured around the following objectives: - Strengthening the participation and inclusion of young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, in European mobility and engagement projects by removing social, cultural and geographical barriers to participation in Erasmus+ exchanges. - Developing young people's key competences by promoting the acquisition of transversal skills (teamwork, intercultural communication, critical thinking, civic engagement). - Develop practical, technical and educational skills related to heritage and volunteering in order to enrich the participants' experience. - Promote active citizenship and the values of the European Union by encouraging young people's civic engagement at local and European level. - Raise awareness of the fundamental values of the EU: solidarity, cultural diversity, respect, democracy and participation. Strengthen the sense of belonging to the European space. - Promote intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding by creating spaces for young people from different countries to meet and cooperate. - Support ecological transition and sustainable development by raising awareness among young people of environmental issues through heritage preservation and by encouraging responsible and sustainable practices in the organisation of activities and mobility. - Apply the principles of popular education and develop participatory, inclusive and innovative teaching methods. Create and disseminate European educational tools on heritage (‘OUR HERITAGE’). - Strengthen European cooperation and the capacities of organisations by consolidating a European network of organisations active in youth, volunteering and heritage.
